Microsoft | Zach’s Story

Microsoft | Zach’s Story

Lacking discipline in his youth, Zach Moore enrolled in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he moved up the ranks and learned how to be a leader. When Zach was ready to transition out of active duty military, he wanted to keep learning and growing. He enrolled in Microsoft Software & Systems Academy (MSSA), where he put all his effort into becoming an IT professional.

Through its MSSA program, Microsoft provides transitioning service members and veterans of the U.S. military the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to meet the IT industry’s high demand for trained talent. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are guaranteed an interview for a full-time job. Microsoft is the first IT industry business to provide formal training for service members before their separation date.

We are so proud of this video, which was produced in collaboration with the Public Affairs team at Microsoft. The video has been shown at Microsoft’s 2017 CELA Summit and on the Microsoft Military Affairs Facebook channel, where it has garnered more than 61,000 views to date. The MSSA team will continue to share Zach’s story to recruit more servicemen and women who are transitioning out of active duty.
